SEPTEMBER 28 to OCTOBER 1, 2023
MEET AND GREET on September 27, 2023 AT 7PM in the lobby of the Raven Inn Hotel in Whitehorse.
Really thrilled to return to the photographic gold that is found in one of my favorite places in all of North America. This workshop promises to be very memorable, and you will go home with many great landscape and wildlife images.
September 28 and Morning of September 29: We will photograph in and around Whitehorse and its nearby surroundings. We will spend time shooting in Fish Lake and Carcross where we will find eagles and other wildlife, as well as colorful aspens groves, ‘ghost towns’, and the beautiful sunrises through the fog on the Yukon River. With any luck, we may be able to head out on one of these evenings to shoot the Northern Lights!
Mid-day on September 29: We will head west toward Haines, Alaska, stopping many times along the way to photograph some of the most magnificent mountain views and landscapes in all of North America. Expect spectacular scenery set against a ground cover that is ablaze in the fall colors of reds and oranges.
September 29 and September 30: We will lodge in Haines for two nights. In and around Haines, we will photograph the many grizzly bears and eagles who are busy feasting on the autumn salmon runs on the Chilkat River.
October 1: Following an early morning check out from our Haines hotel, we will catch the ferry to Skagway and take a leisurely drive back to White Horse, on Hwy 98/Hwy 2. We will stop in Carcross in the late afternoon and arrive back in Whitehorse by around 6pm, when the workshop will end.
NOTE(s):
- The workshop fees include all ground transportation during the workshop.
- Students are responsible for making their own hotel reservations and paying for their own accommodations at the hotels listed below.
- Students can book return flights home or to your next destination either late in the evening on October 1 or any time on October 2, 2023.
We will have a Meet and Greet on September 27 at 7 PM in the lobby of the Raven Inn Hotel in Whitehorse where we discuss student goals and objectives, and Bryan will provide an overview and rough agenda for the workshop and answer any student questions.
