Myanmar continues to be the “must see” destination of Southeast Asia. Much like undiscovered Iceland of just 10 years ago, Myanmar is a true photographic feast with fantastic images to be taken at every turn in the road. Temples, people from all walks of life, colorful markets, mountains, rice fields, brightly dressed monks, and smiles everywhere. We will travel through Myanmar by plane, tuk-tuk and hired car depending on the destination, always finding the best possible shooting opportunities based on the weather and location. This time of year finds Myanmar to be sunny and dry with average daytime highs of 83 degrees and low humidity.
You will fly into Mandalay, (arriving from Yangon or Bangkok) where we will gather for our Meet and Greet at 7 PM in the lobby of the Magic Mandalay. We will spend our first two days shooting in Mandalay, including a sunrise on Lake Taungtahman and several textile factories, as well as the local flower markets and two really unique farm villages. **DO NOT CONFUSE our Inle hotel, above, with this one: The Inle LAKE VIEW Resort and Spa. Both hotels are on the lake, both have great views, but The Inle Lake View Resort and Spa is on the opposite side of Inle Lake and you will be MILES from us!
We will check out the morning of November 9 and drive to the airport that morning you will catch your one-way flight from Heho airport in Inle Lake to either Yangon or up to Mandalay. Both Mandalay and Yangon offer many international connections through Bangkok or Singapore. Which of these two airports you fly to will of course be determined by your own travel plans.
Your workshop fees include all ground transportation, but any taxi rentals to and from airports will be a shared responsibility IF traveling together or individually if taking a taxi to or from an airport on your own. You are also responsible for your flights to and from Myanmar as well as your ONE-WAY Air Ticket from Bagan to Inle Lake (Heho) and your ONE-WAY Air Ticket from Inle Lake (HeHo) to your next destination.
Where you choose to go when the workshop is over is up to you and I am happy to suggest ideas if you wish to stay over in Myanmar or in SE Asia.
Around June 1, 2022, we will send you an email and inform you which airline reservation you should make from Bagan to Inle View Lake on November 6, 2022, so that everyone will be on the same flight.
