13-Day Namibia Workshop

June 6-18, 2022

Meet and Greet on June 6 at noon at the Luderitz Airport

UPDATED Itinerary:

Great news to the many students who have expressed interest in our first ever workshop in Namibia.  Working with a local tour company, we have secured an amazing, upgraded itinerary for our inaugural Namibia workshop – the updated itinerary can be found here:

Namibia 2022

We will start at the Luderitz Airport and load our gear into our 2 four-wheel drive vehicles and hit the road from there.  Over the next 13 days we will explore the magic of this amazing, unique country. Namibia is an undiscovered photographer’s paradise, with the iconic sand dunes of the Sesriem, Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, the Skeleton Coast and pink flamingoes, cape seals, whales and penguins in Walvis Bay, and the deserted, ghost town of Kolmanskop where the desert is slowly reclaiming the town by filling the abandoned homes of the early twentieth century diamond miners with sand. We will spend some time at the famous watering hole in Aus with an opportunity to photograph the enigmatic, wild horses of Aus. We will spend one evening in Damaraland and make a game drive to find and photograph desert elephants.  And we will spend 2 nights INSIDE Etosha National Park at Okaukuejo Resort, with its famous watering hole that provides photographic opportunities all day and all night long.  We will experience traditional African campfire dinners in the evenings after our Etosha game drives.  We will make time to visit the Himba and Herero villages to observe and photograph some of the indigenous people of Namibia.  We will also make time for guided game drives and living desert nature walks to capture photos of the wildlife of Namibia in both the Kalahari and the NamibRand deserts.   While in Walvis Bay, we will take ocean cruise with an opportunity to photograph Cape Fur Seals and dolphins and get a closer look at shipwrecks and the lighthouse on Pelican Point.  For those of you who are willing, you can arise early in the morning and take an OPTIONAL sunrise hot air balloon ride over Sossusvlei, at the student’s expense.

Every student will have a window seat in one of our 2 four-wheel drive vehicles to enable each student to take advantage of the opportunities to photograph the beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife from the comfort of your seat.

June in the southern hemisphere marks the beginning of Winter and you can expect ideal weather on our workshop in Namibia with mild, dry conditions. Morning hours will require a light jacket, at mid-day you can expect to wear short sleeves, and as the sun begins to set you find yourself reaching for your jacket again.

As you can see in the updated itinerary, we are now able to include ALL accommodations in very comfortable lodges, guest houses and resorts.  In addition to your accommodations, all ground transportation, most meals, all game drives and 2 professional guides are included in the price.  NOT included in your workshop fees are alcoholic beverages, the optional hot air balloon ride, and your transportation to and from Namibia.
